Annual Report

Our 2011 Annual Report highlights many of Aim High’s achievements over the past year including our financial stewardship and 2011 funders.

Aim High has maintained balanced budgets for every one of its previous 25 years of operation. In 2011, 42% of our funding came from foundations, 28% from individuals, 10% from corporations, 16% from public agencies, and 4% from independent school partners. We are proud of our fiscal responsibility and the trust we have earned from our donors, supporters and constituents.

In 2011, Aim High opened a new site at Mission High School in San Francisco, serving a total of 1,238 students at thirteen sites in San Francisco, Oakland, San Mateo County and Marin County.

Aim High continued to enhance our standards-based math curriculum in 2011, enabling all Aim High students to improve their math skills by an average of 17% - the equivalent of raising a math grade from a C to an A-. Gains in pre-algebra scores for 8th and 9th grade students averaged 21%. This year, collaboration with like-minded organizations including the Exploratorium, Tools for Peace, First Tee, Spark, Voice of Witness, Mission Science Workshop and Root Division, created academic enrichment opportunities for students across our thirteen sites.
