Stephanie Mera is returning for her second summer with Aim High, and first as a Site Director. Stephanie grew up in Redlands, CA and received her B.A. in Music and Business from the University of Redlands and her M.A. in Education from Claremont Graduate University. During the school year, you can find Stephanie teaching sixth-grade math and cultural studies at The Berkeley School, running, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
In middle school, I was awkward but confident. I had a mouth full of braces and liked PE and math class the best.
Karla Garcia is joining Aim High as a Site Director for her very first summer. Karla grew up in San Rafael and received her B.A. in Psychology from Occidental College and her M.A. in Teaching from University of San Francisco. During the school year, you can find Karla leading the history department at Davidson Middle School, where she also teaches 8th grade U.S. history, is an advisor to first generation students, and coaches basketball.
In middle school, I learned to play the viola and cello. I didn’t know those were string instruments until I joined Orchestra.
Noemi Degante Blancas
Noemi Degante Blancas is joining us for her second summer as an Aim High Site Director. Noemi received a BA in Liberal Studies from California State University, Fullerton. During the school year, you can find Noemi working as a middle school youth leadership Program Coordinator or knitting and sewing all kinds of clothes.
In middle school, I volunteered for a secondary school where I helped mentally and physically disabled students.
Jennifer Veveiros is returning for her second summer as an Aim High Site Director. A Napa native, Jennifer received her B.A. and teaching credential from Sonoma State University, her M.A. in Education from Sacramento State University, and her National Board Certification from Stanford University. During the school year, you can find Jennifer teaching 5th grade and coaching Girls on the Run at Phillips Elementary School, coaching basketball at Vintage High School, and rocking karaoke night.
In middle school, I was obsessed with New Kids on the Block. I wore a NKOTB shirt everyday. I thought I would marry Donnie Walberg.
