Jennifer Jeanty is returning for her fifth summer with Aim High, and her first as a Site Director. Jennifer grew up in Aliso Viejo, CA and received her Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University, her M.A. in School Counseling from University of San Francisco, and her College Counseling Certificate from University of San Diego. During the school year, you can find Jennifer at Vallejo High School where she is a college and career counselor, and cooking and baking treats.
In middle school, I was able to take home economics, which sparked my interest in cooking!
Joyce Lee is returning for her fourth summer with Aim High, and her first as a Site Director. Joyce grew up in East Oakland and received her B.A. in English from Jamestown University in North Dakota. During the school year, you can find Joyce writing and storytelling for NPR, writing poetry, and scrapbooking.
In middle school, I was voted most likely to succeed, most original and most likely to succeed . . .
Sandra Payne is joining Aim High as a Site Director for her very first summer. Sandra grew up in Los Angeles and received her B.A. in History from UC Santa Cruz and her Teaching Credential from CSU Long Beach. During the school year, you can find Sandra teaching 8th grade U.S. history at Urban Promise Academy.
In middle school, I was very social, but also found the love of reading during this time.
David Ramirez is returning for his third summer as Site Director in his hometown of Oakland. He has multiple master’s degrees in education and is a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership Policy and Change at Walden University. During the school year, you can find David working as the 8th grade math/algebra teacher at Urban Promise Academy and as a beginning teacher support coach for Oakland Unified School District.
In middle school, I was able to run a mile in 6 minutes and 15 seconds and I used to play football and baseball.
An Aim High veteran, Benjie Achtenberg is returning for his 12th summer at Aim High, and fifth as a Site Director in his hometown of Oakland. Benjie received an M.A. in Education from Mills College. During the school year, you can find Benjie teaching 8th grade English and history at Bret Harte Middle School in Oakland and baking delicious cookies.
In middle school, I had blue hair and went to many punk rock shows.
Alyssa Pandolfi is returning to Aim High for her fourth summer, and second as a Site Director. Alyssa grew up in North Haven, Connecticut. She received an M.A. in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University. During the school year, Alyssa teaches 7th grade science at Elmhurst Community Prep Middle School in Oakland and adds to her extensive rock collection.
In middle school, I went home every day and read Harry Potter over and over again.
